No Compromise for Gay Irish
A bill is moving ahead in Ireland that would allow civil partnerships for same-sex couples, but gay rights activists say it's a discriminatory offering.

“The civil-partnership bill is an inferior piece of legislation which does not recognize families or give people the right to adopt their partner’s children,” Eloise McInerney of the group Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Noise, which organized the protest, told the Irish Times. “We don’t want crumbs from the master’s table, we want the whole cake. We want the wedding cake.”
