Poesie
Wollt ich mit euch teilen maybe gefaellts euch:
from Flameboy:
The girls liked dolls, and tea parties
But I liked football, and climbing trees
I wanted my hair cut short, like the boys
An’ I wanted to play with all the boys’ toys
I wanted Action Man, with moving eagle eyes
But a Sindy doll was my Christmas surprise
I wanted a Grifter, a boys’ bike, in red
The girls wanted pink bikes, with bells on, instead
We had a street party when God Saved the Queen
So the girls helped the women to lay out the tea
I was to busy being taught how to climb
The lampposts, to hang out the flags on a line
The girls wanted to grow up an’ be Sandy from Grease
I knew I’d be Danny, or Kenickie at least
Or handsome Han Solo on his speeding spaceship
Rescuing Leia from Darth Vader’s grip
The girls were excited by their new training bras
“Have you started yet?” and the latest pop stars
When it happened to me, it just didn’t seem fair
I was way more excited when my legs grew hair
So now I’m an adult, and trying to find
The body that fits with what’s inside my mind
From trying to be who I thought I should be
To becoming the person that really is me
So sing if you’re glad to be trans
If you’re built like a woman but feel like a man
Tell the gender police if they ain’t got it clear
I was never a girl; I’m a transboy, and queer
